ECHOLOCATION You wake up in absolute darkness. There is no light here, only the cold walls of an endless maze. Your only way to navigate is by sending out a sound ping—a brief pulse of echolocation that maps out the corridors momentarily. But the pitch-black environment is suffocating. If you go too long without pinging to ground yourself, your panic begins to rise. Stay in the dark too long, and your stress levels will spike, causing you to pass out. You are not alone in these corridors. Something else wanders the dark. They are completely blind, but their hearing is incredibly sharp. Every step you take, and every single ping you send to guide yourself, makes noise. A single pulse might show you the way out, but it also tells them exactly where you are standing.
